I am an Afro-Latina from Brooklyn New York who started her thrifty traveling through a study abroad in college. I did not grow up around people who explored the world, but I found something I loved and learned how to do it and ran with it. I think a lot of you can relate to that. My goal is to keep the site easy and useful to use from the beginner travel to the pro.
